Christantus Uche Sparks Dominant Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their maiden European campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure straight entry to the knockout stages, particularly after a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season were no match even for a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.

Shelbourne were hanging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
